a week in the life..

July 1st, 2006

So I haven’t had anything to say all week… you wanna know why? I haven’t done anything interesting all week:

Sunday – hung around the house
Monday – went to work. That’s not a bad thing, but it’s not really interesting
Tuesday – had a check up with Dr. Monica (all is well, by the way)
Wednesday – went to work
Thursday – stayed home while everybody went to see “Superman Returns” because it wasn’t on at the drive in. then they felt guilty so they came home and picked me up and we drove around and barked at stuff – that was fun!
Friday – went to work

..see, pretty boring huh! but now it’s a four-day-weekend, woohoo! Now maybe things will get more exciting around here. Or maybe not, we’re not going anywhere. We thought about driving to Canada. If you drive straight North for about 16 hours, apparently you’ll end up in Winnipeg! But we would pretty much just have time to buy a post card and drive back home, and I don’t have any Loonies!

Well, maybe we’ll at least go to the drive in. I’ll keep ya posted!
Have a good weekend!

TYDTWD

June 22nd, 2006

Hey everybody, tomorrow is Take Your Dog To Work Day!

I hear that several thousand companies are expected to participate, up from a few hundred when the event began eight years ago. Also, workplace policies allowing dogs on the job are becoming more popular and surveys have shown that it lowers absenteeism, improves morale, and helps build bonds among workers. I know that’s what I do at the office when I go to work with my mom!

But get this… I’m not going to work tomorrow. In fact my family is going to work with a bunch of Cats!!

They’re participating in some dumb “Kitty Karnival” (cats can’t even spell), at a shelter to help a bunch of smelly cats get adopted or something, and also to promote their little pet portrait business, Pop Art Pet, which wouldn’t even exist if it wasn’t for me and the “inspiration” I provide.

Never mind the fact that I go to work at least twice a week, I went to work today, and the boss bought me a toy and some treats, and I’ll probably go to work on Monday and get more treats. The point is it’s “Take Your Dog To Work Day,” not Go To Work With Cats Day! grrrff!

The House of Kylie

June 17th, 2006

I believe napping is an art form, but to be a true artist one needs to have the right tools. So I thought I would take you all on a tour of my many spots around the house where I do my best work..

upbed.jpg

This is my upstairs bed, as you can see it’s a little small for me.

windowup.jpg This is my upstairs window seat, from here I can survey the whole neighborhhod, or just nap in the sun, which is what I prefer.

oldbed.jpg

This was my first bed, it’s cute but I’ve come a long way since then.

oldhouse.jpg This is a house inside the house, I used to nap in it now it pretty much just storage for toys.

kyhouse.jpg This is my signature house! Also being used for toy storage but also the platform for the cookie bar.

downbed.jpg This is my downstairs bed,

downbed2.jpg it’s convertable!

couch.jpg

Ahh, my couch.. I love my couch!

chair.jpg I have my own papasan chair.

windowd.jpg I have a window seat downstairs too.

windowd2.jpg Was that a rabbit?!

Last but not least, my newest piece of furniture, my outdoor bed, when I need some fresh air!

Oh yeah, I also keep my cabana bed at the office. office 4

You may think this is more furniture than one dog needs…
but, you’d be wrong!

Beating the heat

June 14th, 2006

It hit 100 degrees in Denver today! It’s only supposed to be in the low 80’s. It is sooo HOT! A dog’s gotta do what she can do to beat the heat…

I like popsicles!

What’s new

June 10th, 2006

Hasn’t been too much going on here lately.. it’s only early June but every day the temperature has been in the 90’s, which makes me kind of sluggish. In cold weather, I go outside and come in all energized, but when it’s hot I just come in and stretch out and crash.

I did get a new ball. It’s nothing fancy, your basic plushy squeaky ball. but it is very squeaky and sometimes, not often, I’m easily entertained – especially when it means making a lot of noise!

doggie door dilema

May 27th, 2006

I have a doggie door to go out to my outdoor space – it’s too small to call it a yard but it’s big enough for me to go out and bark when i feel like it (which is often), and go out and lay in the sun on the patio like a lizzard on a rock. Most importantly it gives me the freedom to take care of business when I need to and not wait for somebody to come along and volunteer to take me out on a leash. patio

Well the other evening my mom was cleaning up outside and she closed the screen door which effectively blocks access to my doggie door. Then my mom, absent-minded as she can be, left the screen door closed.. for the next 16 hours!! Finally after lots of tap dancing at the door somebody let me outside – and I peed for like 15 minutes! hmmph! Humans are so unreliable! Fortunately, they are also easy to manipulate and make feel guilty cause I did get a big snack after the whole doggie door dilema!

dog park

May 21st, 2006

I went to Min’s birthday party this weekend at the park. There were like a bunch of other dogs there, but I was on my best behavior and got along well with others!
