The thrill of victory!

June 9th, 2003

Martin Brodeur, my hero, has done it again! He has won the Stanley Cup for the Devils! Well the rest of them helped too. And I was never worried about that “Giggy” fellow – impressed, but not worried!
Now there’s nothing to watch this summer except the squirrels who have decided to frequent the tree right outside my living room window. They sit there and they taunt me, those over-rated rats with bushy tails!
Oh and I’m also responsible for maintaining the caches that Team Kyliedog has planted for geocaching.com. There are three hidden withing 1.5 miles of my house for people to find and trade items. I have to visit regularly to make sure people are playing by the rules, and keeping them well hidden. It’s a big responsibility. But it’s gotten too hot here to do much caching ourselves, so this is how Team Kyliedog is staying in the game!
Speaking of staying in the game, I’m sorry I haven’t been doing more entries in my diary, but..
well what can I say? I’m a busy little dog with a short little attention span. But stay tuned!

Catching Up

April 21st, 2003

I know I have been very remise in keeping my diary up to date. But what can I say.. I am a very busy dog. I do realize that I am also a dog in demand with an obligation to keep folks posted on my comings and goings. So I have figured out a way to get everything all caught up to date..
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I am going to share a whole bunch of pictures of my recent escapades.
Just check out these photo galleries, including the big blizzard, my misadventures with Min, and my recent road trip when I visited four states at once!
But there is one very important issue that can’t be summed up or summarized – My Birthday is this Thursday! Yay!
I know I should’ve mentioned it sooner, but don’t worry, belated gifts are perfectly acceptable!

Snowbound!

March 24th, 2003

Boy was last week fun! We got almost 3 feet of snow! I couldn’t even see over it. But I could romp around in it. We went snowshoe-ing, and sledding, and got stuck in the car and I barked at all the people trying to push us out. It was great! I love the snow. I’m thinking about signing up for the Iditarod next year – but only if I can be the lead dog.

My new friend, Min

March 12th, 2003

I have a new friend, Min. Keep in mind that my definition of “friend” is different than most. I find most other dogs to be just plain impolite (the communicator confirmed this, by the way). I would never just run up and put my nose in your face – let alone some place else, as most dogs will do. How rude! So the only dogs I really get along with are those who, like me, realize such behaviour is just unbecoming and completely ignore me. Min and I ignore each other pretty well, we have an understanding. It was solidified when she bit my ear. But no hard feelings, we are dogs afterall.
It’s a good thing that we get along because our families like to go geocaching together. They’re Team Min Dawg, we are of course Team Kyliedog. Check us out on the trail! Aren’t we cute? I mean cool?

The pet whispererer

February 27th, 2003

This week I had a private session with an animal communicator. Finally, somebody who will listen! It was quite enlightening for my family, I even let them in on the secret of my former life. I plan to post more about this later, but for now it’s sufficient to say I have always been famous! I guess I just belong in the spotlight, people are naturally drawn to me. And who can blame them?

It’s never too late for love.

February 15th, 2003

 Happy Belated Valentine’s Day folks! I got a yummy cupcake from my aunt Suky and a fuzzy bear holding a little heart, which I plan to rip to pieces soon! What a love-ly day it was!

Public Humiliation

February 9th, 2003

Self dog washes are very popular here in Colorado. I guess people with big dogs don’t have room to give them a bath at home and don’t want to have to pay expensive groomers all the time. So who suffers?.. the dogs of course, as usual! My personal experience with public bathing was particularly upsetting. As far as I knew we were just going to visit our friends Dan and Jef who own Wag ‘n’ Wash in Colorado Springs, which was cool with me since they have a bakery for pets on premises, and by the way, the puppy raviolis are excellent! But that’s beside the point because later I was ambushed and subjected to utter humiliation. Here’s the proof:

and the dryer was even worse!bath3 (9k image)
Seriously people, this borders on animal cruelty – but please don’t send my family any threatening e-mails or report them to the Humane Society, they mean well.

Trippin’

January 31st, 2003

Whew.. just got back from another one of my amazing adventures. Had to break up the hum-drum around here, I was in quite a rut, so we took a cross-country road trip. I went all the way to Los Angeles and back (again)! It was great! I am sooo California, I fit right in especially with my west coast family, the Haas’s. We also stopped for a day in Vegas, which is cool but not very dog friendly I hate to say. Next time I’ll go dressed as a white tiger to get real high-roller treatment!

Winter X Dog

January 13th, 2003

Things have been pretty ho-hum around here lately, so I’ve been working on a new look. Living in Colorado I feel I need a more X-treme look for Winter. So here it is.

Now I’m ready to strap on my board and hit the slopes!

Happy New Year

January 2nd, 2003

Wow.. the holidays sure get hectic! I’ve been so busy with parties and presents and all, I haven’t had any time to keep up with my journal. But I did have a very merry Christmas and I made out like a bandit! That wish list worked out pretty well; especially thanks to Grandpa & Grandma, and Melissa, and Joanna & Kelcie! And if you click here you can see the highlights of the festivities.
Happy 2003!
