Kylie's Investment Advice
I'm worth it!
As you may or may not know, I receive a weekly "allowance." Actually I prefer to call it my salary since being the charming, fun-loving, source of joy that I am for my family 24 hours a day is hard work. As of my latest raise I am earning $11.00 per week. Yes, this is a bit modest, but in dog money it's like $63.00. In the beginning there were often deductions taken from my account, which I do keep in a bank - a big, pink piggy bank, for damages incurred around the house. For example, $20 because the cord on the fan had been mysteriously chewed thru and I, not having an alibi, was deemed guilty and had to buy a replacement. In recent years, however there have been none of these "incidents" requiring financial responsibility on my part. This has allowed me to amass quite a savings, which accounts for such a great credit rating, hence my personal Visa Card.

So people often ask where does Kylie spend her money? The answer is, I don't. Except for the mandatory expenses of replacing my favorite toys after I have destroyed them, and of course gift-giving for my closest friends and family on birthdays and major holidays, I keep it all.

Occasionally however, I do go on a little shopping-spree, after all it is important to indulge yourself now and then. So below I have provided some comments about my favorite merchants and links to their sites, where I find the most bark for the buck.

Pet Outfitters

Pet Outfitters - While I do some internet shopping, I prefer to put my money into my own community (plus, I don't believe in paying for shipping). In my community the best place for a dog of my discriminating taste is right around the corner at Pet Outfitters. They carry the top of the line in food, like "The Honest Kitchen,"Solid Gold," and "Wellness;" and fashion such as "Woof Wear," and "Fox & Hound." Of course my favorite thing to shop for is the fresh treats from local bakeries. And Libby and Kim really know how to treat a preferred customer and semi-celebrity like me. If you're ever in the Denver area, stop by and tell them Kylie sent you!

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary

Speaking of giving, not all my spending is frivolous, I am also a philanthropist. Coming from a shelter myself, I realize the importance of giving something back to the community of wonderful human beings who dedicate their lives to helping less privileged animals. My charity of choice is Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. I have been a contributor for several years and have been thrilled with the rate of their growth and success as they maintain a no-kill environment. They have accomplished nothing short of a miracle at Angel Canyon, a heaven-on-earth for wayward animals. I cannot commend them enough. Please visit their site, learn more about them, even take a virtual tour, I know you'll want to make a donation too.
