finally got out and about today!
lots more pictures of our outing to come..
My family has been laid up, they’re all sick & injured. So nobody pays any attention to me, I’ve been bored and neglected..

plus nobody ever feeds me.
(what?? you don’t believe me?)
Well it looks like 2008 is the year that all our questions will be answered.. I am finally getting the doggie DNA test!
In case you haven’t heard about it, if you’re a mixed breed dog, like moi, now your vet can draw a little blood (ouch) and send it off to a lab. Then in a few weeks you’ll get a report that tells you which breeds make up your particular mix! They’ve already taken my blood, those vampires, now we’re just waiting…
So how about to pass the time we play a game and you send me your best guess. Do you think I’m a Jack-Rat (Jack Russell & Rat Terrier)? Or maybe a Jackle (Jack Russell & Beagle)? Or what if after all these years of my family telling everybody I’m JRT & something, I’m really not a Jack at all?? What if I’m a Labradoodle or Shcnoodle or Yorkeranian?
Ok, I realize that’s not very likely. I really can’t believe people really consider those actual dog breeds, and Chi-weenies, and Pugles. Hello!!.. those are mixed breed dogs too! aka, Mutts, like me! (No offense if you are one of those dogs, there’s nothing wrong with it. Mutts Rule! I just think that people are really silly to buy into designer doggie labels.)
Anyway, I welcome your best guess about my heritage! Just click on comment below and let me know what you think. If you get it right, I just might send you a surprise!
And to help you out with visual aids, here’s a picture of me..

and all of my uniqueness!

..and here’s to a GREAT 2008!
[For those of you who are wondering.. the thing on my head is a kagami mochi, a traditional Japanese New Year’s decoration that consists of two layered, round rice cakes with a Japanese orange on top. During New Year celebrations, kagami-mochi is displayed in houses as an offering to the gods for a healthy and happy new year, after which it is eaten. I need all the healthy and happy I can get so I decided to wear it on my head.]
First sledding of the season, last of the year.
Oh the excitement.. oh the elation..

Oh the elevation.. oh the exhaustion..

Oh the rewards of a job well done!
I love sledding!
We actually had a very white Christmas, it snowed about 8 inches that day and we had another foot today. Of course I was out there in it..

It was pretty deep, they were calling me a snow shark!

Fortunately, I’m actually more like a snowmobile!
Sorry I’ve been away, you know how busy the holidays get.. Basically between my various social engagements I found it necessary to hibernate to store up energy for the next one.
But once it was finally Christmas Eve, I really “got into” the spirit of things..

I tore it up like a pup!

It was Great! Merry Christmas everyone!
Those “new” pictures of me in flickr with Santa were actually from last year. Coincidentally, Santa was here again (funny how he always shows up right before christmas)!

And that punk Pinky just had to tag along!

ugh.. I can’t believe I put up with this humiliation just for a few presents!
[Thanks again to Nicole Howard Photography for the great pics of Kyliedog w/Santa - there will be more to come!]

This will definitely get me on the NAUGHTY list…
Thanksgiving was a very busy time for me. First Min was here,

looking for trouble - as usual.
Then we went to Boulder to the house of Ferdinand

& Fiona.

They’re both a little crazy so I can’t get a moment’s rest around the two of them.

Ok, once the tryptophan kicked in after my turkey dinner, I did get some rest. But not really.. have you ever tried sharing the sofa with a great dane??
