The Adventure Continues

February 18th, 2009

We know many people would visit Kylie’s blog regularly to keep track of her and her shenanigans. We have received such kind messages from some of you and we know you share our loss.

So because we know you miss her and because we still feel the need to share the wonderment of Kylie with the world, we have begun a new blog… will chronicle our lives with Kylie and you will learn things about our funny little girl that you haven’t read on Kylie’s site.

We hope you’ll visit and enjoy!

PS: If you visit often you’ll notice that the images at the top change each time.

The Life of Kylie

January 30th, 2009

Yesterday, sadly Kylie had to move on from her life with us to greater adventures. But we willmisskylie3 never forget how she made our lives better every single day.

Kylie was truly exceptional, and one of a kind, and for those of you who haven’t spent a lot of time on her website here are some things you may not know:

Kylie was more well-traveled than lots of people. She was born in hawaii which truly makes it paradise, we adopted her from the Humane Society there when she was eight months old. Then we moved to new jersey when she was 4 and that became her launching pad. She’s literally been from coast to coast (and Canada) including:

New York City (including Times Square, Central Park, and Rockerfeller Center at Christmas)
Amish Country
New England
Washington DC
Las Vegas (one of her favorite destinations)
Plus many less “exciting” destinations like Kansas, Texas, Nebraska, South Dakota, etc.

Kylie loved road trips! She visited multiple world’s wonders – Niagara Falls, Mount Rushmore, The Grand Canyon, and Old Faithful. She’s seen Hoover Dam, The Space Needle, Pike’s Peak, Royal Gorge bridge, the Statue of Liberty, the White House, even the Hockey Hall of Fame (can you believe they wouldn’t let her in)! And of course the ever-popular roadside oddities like Carhenge, that big thermometer in Baker, CA, and the entire town of Roswell, NM.

misskylie2We moved to colorado about seven years ago and Kylie loved it here too. The weather is nice in Denver almost all the time so she got to go on many hikes, and loved climbing up rocks and walking through streams, and chasing bunnies, and she really loves the snow and going sledding and going to the mountains!

Kylie is quite famous! She was on the radio when we had a friend in honolulu that was a dj who let her hang out in the booth with him. Then she moved on to television when her Psychic Puppy Network got media attention. It was featured on the So Graham Norton show in the UK, then she was interviewed for a television show called “The Internet Tonight” on the former TechTV channel (now G4). PPN (the psychic puppy network) was also featured in a newspaper in florida, on USA today’s website, on Seventeen magazine’s website, and for awhile it was a link on Penn & Teller’s website.

Kylie was even a model! Wag n Wash used her as a spokesmodel on their website and in their brochure and print ads. She was very photogenic even though she really didn’t like the camera. Kylie is possibly one of the most photographed dogs in the world, just visit her flickr page (or click all the blue links in this post) and you’ll see what I mean.

Kylie was such a comedian, she made us laugh almost every day. She was our child, our best friend, and she was a Rock Star! She was loved by everyone who knew her, and thanks to this website even by some who never met her. We were so privileged that she shared her life with us.

Of course and our memories of this sweet funny girl will live on. It was all a work of love, for the most special soul we have ever known. We will miss her dearly everyday.

**We have decided that this will not be the end of the story, please read more about it here**

Speaking of Santa..

December 23rd, 2008

I found him – just in time!

So now he knows where my new house is, so I’ll be expecting a prompt delivery of cookies on christmas!

7 Days ’til Christmas..

December 18th, 2008

That’s a long time to wait for Santa, and I’m already pretty tired..

But I’ll hang in there. My mom keeps telling me that I already got my big christmas present back in May – the backyard. But I’m pretty sure Santa will remember to bring me some treats anyway!

And in case you haven’t noticed, we don’t do anything “normal” around here. That’s why we have a shiny green tree and a shiny pink tree.

Actually that little pink one is specifically for me, BUT even on the bigger bright green one, most of the ornaments have pictures of Me! (a Hallmark photo ornament for each year) So really they’re both Kylie trees!

Catching Up With Kylie

December 5th, 2008

Kylie’s mom here.. taking full responsibility for the lack of Kylie chronicles of late. So let the excuses begin, we’ve been really busy, blah, blah, blah. But the bottom line is there’s never a dull moment in a life with Kylie so here’s some of what you missed..

On Halloween Kylie was Tricked! (into wearing TWO costumes)

the lobster

and Zero (from Nightmare Before Christmas)

Clearly she wasn’t very happy about either, but I assure you she also got Treats!

Then in November Kylie pretty much just took it easy – and you know Kylie is a pro at R&R.

Do you think you’ve ever been that comfortable in your life? It was like a pre-winter hibernation period for her to save up for her energy for one of her favorite things… SNOW!

Around here, fall usually turns into winter very quickly, but this year we had to wait a long time for the first snow. Then finally this weekKylie got her first snow in her own backyard and she is LOVING it!

So now you know what Kylie has been doing. Hope you all are enjoying your holidays so far!

Arlo the Squirrel

October 14th, 2008

I had a check up at Dr. Monica’s office and somebody there had rescued a baby squirrel aided and abetted a junior criminal!

They named him Arlo for goodness sake!

I wanted to name him Appetizer.

The Kylie Hall of Fame

In our new house there is a stairway down to the finished basement. Check out the decor as you walk down the stairs.
